Canadian Satellite Radio Hires Candidate as Lobbyist

It always helps to have friends in high places, and CANADIAN SATELLITE RADIO has one in politician RICHARD MAHONEY, who has registered as a lobbyist for the XM-affiliated company while planning to run in a few months for Parliament. 

MAHONEY, a LIBERAL PARTY member and friend of Prime Minister PAUL MARTIN, is a likely cabinet member if he wins election in the OTTAWA-CENTRE riding, where he lost to the NDP's ED BROADBENT in 2004. MAHONEY's lobbying activity may become an issue in the election, with the embattled MARTIN fending off charges that his cabinet and advisers are too influenced by lobbyists.
