iHEARTMEDIA Rock KDJE (100.3 THE EDGE)/LITTLE ROCK morning hosts COREY DEITZ and PATRICK BEAM, along with he board members of THE SEPTEMBER FUND, have voted to make a donation of $4,500 to the QUAIL CREEK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT for much-needed new equipment.
“We are very grateful,” said CHIEF STEVEN FEYEN.
THE SEPTEMBER FUND was created by DEITZ and BEA,’s radio show and since 2003 has raised and awarded over $110,000 dollars in scholarship money to sons and daughters of ARKANSAS firefighters, law enforcement officers and EMTS.
In 2014, the fund created a scholarship endowment at UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS, LITTLE ROCK, in the COLLEGE OF SOCIAL SCIENCE AND COMMUNICATIONS. That initial $25,000 donation will award scholarships in perpetuity beginning this MAY.
In 2015, THE SEPTEMBER FUND board voted to help the needs of fire, police, and EMT.
Currently, THE SEPTEMBER FUND is accepting applications for a new round of scholarships. Children of first responders who entered college in fall 2015 or will enter in fall of 2016 may download an application at www.TheSeptemberFund.org.
