Former UNITED STATES Army soldier, motivational speaker, and ABC-TV "Dancing With The Stars" season 20 contestant NOAH GALLOWAY addressed the audience this MORNING (2/9) as the featured speaker for COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR (CRS) 2016. GALLOWAY, who was deployed during the IRAQ WAR, shared insight into his second deployment in what is known as the "Triangle Of Death," where he sustained a major injury; GALLOWAY lost an arm, one leg from above the knee with injuries to his other leg, and had a hole in his jaw. 

He discussed the challenges of living with a major injury, both physically and mentally. GALLOWAY talked about overcoming depression, and how he realized what it meant to be a good man, for his sons and his daughter, and realizing that he had to make a change in his life. He battled back, and with each physical obstacle, he also challenged himself mentally. GALLOWAY ran races, was featured on magazines, and then appeared on "Dancing With The Stars" and other television shows.

GALLOWAY stressed the importance of striving to be your best self, and he shared his mindset in combat, in overcoming depression, and in his life moving forward. "Sometimes you have to be cocky in your head," said GALLOWAY. "I have to convince myself I am doing what most people can't, and that's a mindset that I've used a lot." He added, "I was always happy in combat, and that made some of my friends mad. I had a friend one day ask me, 'Why are you so happy? We live in hell.' I said, 'Because most people can't do what we do."'

He also stressed the importance of hard work and success in career, and in Country radio. "Everyone talks about what they want. Are they willing to put in the work? There is someone out there, spending 24 hours, seven days a week trying to take your job, because it's out there." He added, "Radio is dominating the airwaves. You've got SPOTIFY. You've got PANDORA. They're trying to do things, but nothing compares to our local stations. That's where we get all of our information; that's how we know who's coming in concert, and what's going on. That's why it's so powerful -- so powerful that your job is at risk, because when something is that powerful, they're always looking for the next best thing to keep it moving."

GALLOWAY ended with a reference to WARNER BROS./W.A.R. artist CHRIS JANSON. "Do you think he is out on a boat...? No, he is pushing it. This is a city full of starving talent wanting to get to where he is, and they will take that from him if he's not constantly moving and working."
