The COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA) hosted an information session this morning (2/10) at COUNTRY RADIO SEMINAR (CRS) 2016. CMA SVP/Marketing and Partnerships DAMON WHITESIDE addressed attendees sharing the strategic initiatives of the CMA for 2016 and beyond.
Touching on the benefits of CMA membership, including access to a national radio directory in both print and online forms, ticketing opportunities for the CMA AWARDS and CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL, voting opportunities for the CMA AWARDS, and more, WHITESIDE encouraged radio partners to participate in as many events as possible through the CMA.
Also previewed was the upcoming 50th Anniversary of the CMA AWARDS (NET NEWS 11/6/15). The first music awards show to be broadcast on television, the CMAs will celebrate the 50th Anniversary with a year-long campaign pushing special content to Country music fans worldwide utilizing its website and social media platforms. WHITESIDE noted that the CMA is "celebrating the past 50 years while looking toward the next 50 years with a contemporary eye."
CMA radio remotes and the CMA FOUNDATION were also highlighted, noting the important work the FOUNDATION does to promote continued music education in our school systems. Additionally, it was announced that CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL will return this year, running THURSDAY, JUNE 9th through SUNDAY, JUNE 12th with the HARD ROCK STAGE, PARK STAGE, and RIVERFRONT STAGE all returning and a new ASCEND AMPHITHEATER STAGE opening to accommodate additional performances.
As the CMA celebrates its 50th Anniversary of the CMA AWARDS, they are working to continue growing and building relationships with radio partners. For more information on how to get involved with the worldwide organization for those working in the Country music industry, visit the CMA website.
