Scott Simon Takes 6-Week Leave From NPR 'Weekend Edition Saturday' To Write Book With Tony Bennett

NPR "WEEKEND EDITION SATURDAY"  host SCOTT SIMON will take a leave of absence to work with TONY BENNETT on the latter's next book.

SIMON announced on SATURDAY's show that he will be absent for six weeks to help the legendary singer with the book; he added that LINDA WERTHEIMER, LOURDES GARCIA-NAVARRO, and MELISSA BLOCK would fill in for him, and that he would be making some appearances around the country during his time away from the show.
