Get well wishes go out to NRG MEDIA Sports KOZN-A (1620 THE ZONE)/OMAHA "GAME TIME" host and former CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY basketball player NICK BAHE, who told listeners TUESDAY (2/16) that he will be away from the show for a few weeks getting surgery and treatment for a tumor in his thymus gland, the gland at the top of the sternum that regulates the immune system.
In an emotional segment that brought him to tears at one point, BAHE said that he was diagnosed on JANUARY 22nd, shortly after his daughter MABEL was born that morning. He said he had felt "dizzy and nauseous all the time" in early NOVEMBER, and an MRI showed he had suffered two strokes in his cerebellum in that month. His symptoms, he said, have improved with vestibular rehabilitation, but his condition is still a problem; he related how he nearly vomited during an interview with VILLANOVA coach JAY WRIGHT and his BIG EAST play-by-play partner TIM BRANDO at a pre-game shootaround.
MATT VRZAL will fill in for BAHE.
