Panelists for the FCC's public hearing on media ownership in LOS ANGELES and EL SEGUNDO, CA TUESDAY (10/3) have been announced, with no radio industry representatives on the list.
The Creative Community/Independent Programming panel includes R.E.M. bassist MIKE MILLS, producer/writer STEPHEN J. CANNELL, director TAYLOR HACKFORD, actress and SAG VP ANNE-MARIE JOHNSON, AFTRA President JOHN CONNOLLY, PARENTS TELEVISION COUNCIL Pres.-Elect TIM WINTER, WGA WEST President PATRIC VERRONE, producer and PRODUCERS GUILD OF AMERICA Pres. MARSHALL HERSKOVITZ, and TV group ION MEDIA NETWORKS CEO BRANDON BURGESS.
The afternoon Market Overview/L.A. Case Study panel will feature several community activists and NABET Sector VP JIM JOYCE, as well as STANFORD's BRUCE OWEN representing CBS, FOX, and NBC; KNBC (TV) (NBC 4)/LOS ANGELES Pres./GM PAULA MADISON; CW affiliate KTLA (TV)/LOS ANGELES VP/GM VINCENT MALCOLM; and UNIVISION O&O KMEX-TV (UNIVISION 34)-KFTR-TV (TELEFUTURA 46)/LOS ANGELES Pres./GM JORGE DELGADO, along with NATIONAL RELIGIOUS BROADCASTERS Pres./CEO Dr. FRANK WRIGHT.
WILEY, REIN AND FIELDING partner and former FCC Commissioner HENRY RIVERA will serve as moderator for both panels.
