Longtime WOAI/San Antonio Anchor Bob Guthrie Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former WOAI-A and WOAI-TV/SAN ANTONIO news anchor BOB GUTHRIE, who died SATURDAY (2/27) of complications from surgery at 81.

GUTHRIE joined WOAI radio in 1956 while stationed at FORT SAM HOUSTON, and was at the station for over 50 years, first as host of jazz and other shows before anchoring the news.  He was also host of several local events and parades, a licensed pilot, and a contractor.  He retired in 2009.
