Baltimore Radio, TV Newsman Bob Shilling Passes Away

Former WCBM-A/BALTIMORE News Director and reporter BOB SHILLING died SUNDAY (2/28) after a battle with lung cancer at 75, reports crosstown NBC affiliate WBAL-TV.
SHILLING, who started in radio in ATLANTIC CITY and moved to BALTIMORE to work at WBAL-TV, was at WCBM from 1966 to 1985. He later spent 18 years as Managing Editor at crosstown SINCLAIR FOX affiliate WBFF-TV (FOX 45). Most recently, he served as Media Specialist at the NATIONAL FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION from 2010 until his passing. SHILLING was also a past president and board member of the CHESAPEAKE ASSOCIATED PRESS BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION and Chairman of its Scholarship Committee.
