The MILWAUKEE BREWERS have filled the radio slot left open by JOE BLOCK's exit to move to the PITTSBURGH PIRATES booth by hiring UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA HUSKER SPORTS NETWORK broadcaster LANE GRINDLE as the third voice for BREWERS radio broadcasts, reports the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL-SENTINEL. GRINDLE will call games on the road when BOB UECKER does not make the trip, joining JEFF LEVERING for the broadcasts.
GRINDLE has been with the HUSKER SPORTS NETWORK for 10 seasons, first as baseball pre- and post-game host and then, since 2008, as baseball play-by-play voice. He has also served as football sideline reporter and host of a TV show for the HUSKERS' basketball team, and was a Senior Account Executive for the network, operated by IMG COLLEGE.
The BREWERS air on a network headed by SCRIPPS News-Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE.
