KFWB ASSET TRUST Sports KFWB-A (THE BEAST 980)/LOS ANGELES' final day in the Sports format is TODAY (2/29).  The station, which is being sold to CHARLIE BANTA's UNIVERSAL MEDIA ACCESS - KFWB-AM, LLC for $8 million, is being brokered out for a South Asian format as DESI 980.

A message at the station website said, "FEBRUARY 29 is the last day on air for THE BEAST 980. The station was sold and the new owners will change the format. Words cannot express how much we thank you for your support. We love sports and we love our L.A. teams, but YOU, our fans, were the reason we went to work everyday. Thank you for being the MVPs of THE BEAST 980 team."
