UK digital radio group UBC MEDIA says that details of a commercial launch of its digital music download service for radio stations will be forthcoming on NOVEMBER 27.
The system, tested in consumer trials in BIRMINGHAM, would allow listeners to download songs as they hear them on the radio; UBC says that it has had discussions with NTL's VIRGIN MOBILE about offering the service to users. The acknowledgment of the download service's pending launch came as UBC released early statements about its first-half 2006 financial information that indicated flat results flat on a year-to-year basis, with revenues trailing last year's figures.
