Solomon Won't Bid On Tower

TOWER RECORDS founder RUSS SOLOMON was not among the bidders who submitted proposals to buy the troubled music and video retailer by last TUESDAY's deadline. SOLOMON had been rumored as one of the bidders for bankrupt TOWER owner MTS INC. but chose not to bid. The bankruptcy court auction is scheduled for OCTOBER 5; bidders who will participate include TRANS WORLD ENTERTAINMENT, the GREAT AMERICAN GROUP, and real estate firms.
