FOX-TV, CUMULUS MEDIA and DICK CLARK PRODUCTIONS have teamed up for the SUNDAY, MAY 1st return of the “AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN AWARDS,” last seen in DECEMBER of 2014 (NET NEWS 12/16/14).
The three-hour awards show sat out 2015, after FOX announced its postponement in NOVEMBER (NET NEWS 11/23). The “AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN” connection to the show morphed from a previous iteration, "AMERICAN COUNTRY AWARDS," which debuted in 2010. In 2014, FOX aligned with the CUMULUS NASH brand and a tie in with the iconic "AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN" syndicated radio show, which originated in 1973 with COUNTRY RADIO HALL OF FAMER BOB KINGSLEY as host. Since 2006, KIX BROOKS, half of legendary Country duo BROOKS & DUNN has helmed the countdown, which airs in 155 markets and boasts 280 radio affiliates.
