The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS (NAB) is offering a webinar on cybersecurity for broadcast stations. “Broadcast Cybersecurity: The Essentials” will stream live on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23rd 2-3p (ET) and will be moderated by NAB Associate General Counsel, Legal and Regulatory Affairs LARRY WALKE. FCC Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau Chief Admiral DAVID SIMPSON will give opening remarks, and DCT ASSOCIATES' CYNTHIA BRUMFELD, the FCC's STEVEN CARPENTER, ABC's HOWARD PRICE, and the NAB's KELLY WILLIAMS will be on the panel.
“We are more connected than ever before. That connectivity brings efficiency and many operational benefits. However, it also brings risks,” said NAB Chief Technology Officer SAM MATHENY. “These new security challenges threaten the functionality and profitability of media companies. It is imperative for broadcasters to be informed and solidly prepared to handle the unique threat of cyberattacks.”
A white paper prepared by the NAB in response to recommendations made by the FCC's Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (CSRIC) based on a framework developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology will be released to NAB member stations on TUESDAY, MARCH 22nd.
