Condolences to family and friends of longtime SAN DIEGO radio personality and DEL MAR racetrack announcer ERNIE MYERS, who died TUESDAY (3/8) after a battle with Parkinson's disease in LA MESA, CA at 86.
MYERS was a disc jockey at KCBQ-A, KOGO-A, XETRA-A (THE MIGHTY 690), KSDO-A, and KPOP-A in a career that stretched from the 50s through his . He was also well-known as the track announcer at DEL MAR. He was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the SAN DIEGO RADIO BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION in 2001.
