NAPSTER launched a JAPANESE service today (10/3) , putting it in direct competition with APPLE's iPOD and iTUNES, AP reports. NAPSTER JAPAN, which offers more than 1.5 million JAPANESE and foreign tunes via three different download options, is a joint venture between NAPSTER, which owns 31.5%, and TOWER RECORDS JAPAN, which owns 53.5%; the remainder is owned by an investment group.
