Cumulus, Citing Noncompete, Sues Indiana Host Who Jumped To Rival

Former CUMULUS Country WMDH (NASH FM 102.5)/NEW CASTLE-MUNCIE, IN morning co-host AMANDA ROLLEN is being sued by the company for allegedly violating a noncompete clause in her contract after heading to a rival station cluster.

The INDIANAPOLIS STAR reports that CUMULUS sued ROLLEN and HOOSIER AM/FM LLC, alleging that ROLLEN had a six-month noncompete, but left on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2nd and began work at HOOSIER AM/FM as Production Dir. for its MARION and KOKOMO stations on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20th. 

The suit, which asks for an injunction and monetary damages as well as legal expenses, says that ROLLEN worked on remotes from a MARION supermarket and mortuary in violation of her contract, and that the transmitter for HOOSIER AM/FM WXXC (STAR 106.9)/MARION is within the prohibited 50-mile radius of WMDH and several HOOSIER AM/FM stations' business address is 37 miles from WMDH.
