A former reporter for TOWNSQUARE MEDIA/NEW JERSEY has filed to have her employment age, race, and gender discrimination case against the company dismissed. A motion was filed in U.S. District Court in NEW JERSEY on MARCH 16th noting that plaintiff ROSETTA A. KEY had requested a voluntary dismissal of her case and that the suit was dismissed without costs and with prejudice.
KEY filed her action in Superior Court of NEW JERSEY on SEPTEMBER 2nd of last year, alleging that she was discriminated against in that she worked for the group, based at AC WOBM-F/TOMS RIVER and including work heard on WOBM-A/LAKEWOOD, Talk WKXW (NEW JERSEY 101.5)/TRENTON, Hot AC WJLK (94.3 THE POINT)/ASBURY PARK, and Hot AC WSJO (SOJO 104.9)/ATLANTIC CITY, for a decade but her salary was frozen from 2007-15 at $35,500.
She alleged that a younger, white female part-time employee was hired in 2013 and given a full-time position as morning news anchor at a higher salary, then saw her own responsibilities reduced. In MARCH 2015, KEY was fired as evening news anchor, then alleged that NEW JERSEY 101.5 subsequently advertised for a new anchor.
