Jury: Schnitts Must Pay Attorneys Who Represented Them In Case Against Bubba The Love Sponge

A TAMPA jury has ruled that iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WOR-A/NEW YORK and syndicated talker TODD SCHNITT and his wife MICHELLE are liable for almost $1 million in legal fees, ruling in favor of attorney PHIL CAMPBELL of SHUMAKER, LOOP AND KENDRICK, who represented the SCHNITTS in their failed case against BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE for defamation.

FOX O&O WTVT (FOX 13)/TAMPA reports that while the SCHNITTS blamed CAMPBELL for their loss in the BUBBA case, characterizing the suit as "unwinnable," the law firm's attorney JOE VARNER contended that the SCHNITTS were "desperately coming up with excuses to not pay their bill."

CAMPBELL's DUI arrest during the trial led to a scandal in which three attorneys for BUBBA were determined to have set CAMPBELL up for arrest; they were disbarred as a result.
