Inaugural Grammy Park Set For Brooklyn, May 5th-8th

To showcase and celebrate excellence in music across genres, THE RECORDING ACADEMY has partnered with UPSILON VENTURES and the NEW YORK CITY MAYOR'S OFFICE to present GRAMMY PARK, the first GRAMMY-branded, multi-day live music experience.  

Over the course of four days and 10 live concert performances, more than 30 artists, collectively honored with 40-plus GRAMMY and LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS, will converge in BROOKLYN to celebrate the rich musical diversity of various genres, including R&B, hip-hop, gospel, pop, LATIN, and jazz.
 
Seven-time GRAMMY winner TONI BRAXTON, three-time winner NE-YO with JAZMINE SULLIVAN and a special evening featuring GRAMMY nominees ROBIN THICKE and ALOE BLACC will be among the live music performances and signature artist spotlights to take place at the PROSPECT PARK BAND SHELL and the historic KINGS THEATRE in BROOKLYN. Additional special events and programs will be held at LeFRAK CENTER at LAKESIDE, PROSPECT PARK.

Free concert events -- open to the public -- include a special concert featuring emerging artists and jazz ensembles on SATURDAY, MAY 7th at 10a (ET) and a MOTHER'S DAY gospel concert on SUNDAY, MAY 8th at NOON (ET), both at PROSPECT PARK BAND SHELL. Each concert requires a ticket.

Event highlights include "Changing The Game," a provocative conversation about hip-hop's impact on the music world and society, at the KINGS THEATRE on FRIDAY, MAY 6th at 5:30p (ET), with JOEY BADASS, CHUCK D, JUST BLAZE, MC LYTE, RAHEIM, KEITH SHOCKLEE, THE KIDD CROLE and RAY CHEW.

JONATHAN BUTLER, ANDRA DAY and DIANNE REEVES will be the special guests for "Big Band & Broadway Remix," slated for SUNDAY, MAY 8th at 7p (ET) at the PROSPECT PARK BAND SHELL featuring the CHRISTIAN McBRIDE BIG BAND.
