XM SATELLITE RADIO added over 285,000 new net subscribers in third quarter to reach a total of 7.2 million subscribers. The numbers, which fell short of SIRIUS' third quarter adds but, the company said, met previous projections, did not include about 20,000 additions due to rental car fleets.
