ENTERCOM Country WGGY (FROGGY 101)/WILKES BARRE-SCRANTON, PA morning "WAKE UP CALL" co-hosts ERIC PETERSON and SELENA ROBERTSON exited the station last FRIDAY (4/1) after 14 and 12 years with the company, respectively.
ALL ACCESS has learned that an announcement regarding FROGGY mornings will be made FRIDAY, APRIL 8th at 7:10a (ET). Coincidentally – or not – the FROGGY change comes on the heels of last WEEK’s news that CBS RADIO Country WXTU/PHILADELPHIA morning man DOC MEDEK was stepping down for a soon-to-be announced opportunity in NORTHEASTERN PA (NET NEWS 3/29).
And, while one should never assume, we seriously doubt the DOC will soon be setting up practice at the fictional, SCRANTON-based DUNDER MIFFIN PAPER company. That makes WGGY a prime suspect for MEDEK’s next house call, as he previously served as PD/mornings there before joining ‘XTU in 2010 (NET NEWS 1/22/2010). Additionally, when we looked at our trusty U.S. atlas, WILKES-BARRE is conspicuously located in – wait for it – NORTHEASTERN, PA. Nobody from the station or ENTERCOM is commenting; stay tuned.
