CBS RADIO '80s Oldies KVMX/PORTLAND flipped this morning to "THE NEW MOViN 107.5." The switch follows similar MOViN moves by CBS in DALLAS and SAN FRANCISCO.
KUFO & KVMX OM DAVE NUMME, who'd also been programming KVMX, will oversee the launch while he searches for a new PD. "THE BOB RIVERS SHOW" will no longer air on KVMX (although it will continue on its flagship of KZOK/SEATTLE). Midday host TIM TAYLOR has exited, and APD/afternoon driver STACEY LYNN is currently on maternity leave and will return to the station at the first of the year.
"The time has come for Portland to get MOViN," said KVMX VP/GM MARK WALEN. "I'm confident listeners will be quick to embrace this new format, which has a unique flavor combining some of the biggest hits from the last two decades with the most popular songs of today."
