CUMULUS MEDIA Country WRKN (NASH FM 92.3)/NEW ORLEANS has re-branded to "THE GULF SOUTH'S COUNTRY GIANT ... NEW ORLEANS/BATON ROUGE ... NASH FM 92.3" and will transition from a contemporary Country format to a new mass-appeal Country format. The move shifts the programming to feature Country Gold titles paired with today's best Country music. Core artists will include GARTH BROOKS, GEORGE STRAIT, BROOKS & DUNN, TOBY KEITH, DIXIE CHICKS, TIM MCGRAW, KENNY CHESNEY, KEITH URBAN, CARRIE UNDERWOOD, ALAN JACKSON and ZAC BROWN BAND.
SCOTT INNES joins the WRKN staff, taking the reins in middays with SHAWN WILLIAMS handling afternoons. Syndicated "AMERICA'S MORNING SHOW WITH BLAIR GARNER" and "NASH NIGHTS LIVE" will continue to air in mornings and nights, respectively, with KIX BROOKS' syndication in overnights. INNES is an award winning broadcaster, accomplished songwriter, and the voice of SCOOBY DOO and SHAGGY in over eight feature films along with voicing various other HANNA-BARBERA cartoon characters.
"The GULF SOUTH'S COUNTRY GIANT NASH-FM 92.3 now fills a huge void of Country music in NEW ORLEANS, BATON ROUGE, and everywhere in between and beyond," said CUMULUS/NEW ORLEANS OM and WRKN PD JOHN BOYLE. "We're thrilled to welcome SCOTT INNES to middays. SCOTT is a truly gifted entertainer who is incredibly talented."
