BELL MEDIA News-Talk CFRA-A/OTTAWA afternoon "OTTAWA NOW" host/Executive Producer and former CBC RADIO 1 "THE HOUSE" and CBC NEWS NETWORK television's "POWER AND POLITICS" host EVAN SOLOMON has been named National Affairs Specialist at BELL MEDIA RADIO. SOLOMON will continue to host the OTTAWA show while adding a weekly syndicated show, "REAL TALK," for BELL News-Talk stations, daily morning appearances on CFRA and BELL News-Talk stations CFRB-A/TORONTO and CJAD-A/MONTREAL, and weekly hits on CFAX-A/VICTORIA, CKLW-A/WINDSOR, CJBK-A/LONDON, ON, CKTB-A/ST. CATHARINES, ON, and CKFR-A/KELOWNA, BC.
"We are delighted to solidify and expand EVAN's role as part of the BELL MEDIA team," said Pres./Entertainment Production and Broadcasting RANDY LENNOX. "As an accomplished journalist and broadcast talent, and with his finger firmly on the pulse of Canadian national affairs, EVAN's reach is now broadened to the millions of BELL MEDIA's news/talk radio listeners."
"While reporting on the national affairs scene daily for our listeners, EVAN is the perfect choice to lead our new program, REAL TALK, airing weekly across the network," said VP/Programming DAVID COREY. "We couldn't be more thrilled to be adding such a strong, weekly program to our regular lineup."
"I am excited to take on the many new, expanded facets of this role," said SOLOMON. "I look forward to working with BELL MEDIA RADIO's talented team across the whole news/talk family to maintain the national affairs dialog for our listeners."
SOLOMON was fired by the CBC last year after being accused of secretly taking brokerage fees for connecting art buyers and sellers, including people with whom he dealt as a host, without disclosure. Since then, he has hosted a daily show, "EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL," for SIRIUSXM CANADA.
