Condolences to family and friends of former WLSH-A/LANSFORD, PA, WPAM-A/POTTSVILLE, PA, and WMBA-A/AMBRIDGE, PA owner JOHN W. "BUD" ANGST, who died APRIL 26th in VALLEY VIEW, PA at 93.
ANGST and his wife ALICE owned the stations, buying out their MINERS BROADCASTING SERVICE partners in the '70s as POCONO ANTHRACITE COMMUNICATIONS, and ANGST hosted talk shows there. He sold the stations in 1985 and went into newspaper publishing in LANSFORD before retiring; he also reported for local papers and served as CARBON COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY Chairman.
