RAB, BMI, MIW Set Dates For 'Rising Through The Ranks' Seminar

The RADIO ADVERTISING BUREAU, BMI, and the MENTORING AND INSPIRING WOMEN IN RADIO GROUP (MIW) have announced details of their 9th annual "Rising Through the Ranks" seminar.
The event is set for AUGUST 24-25 at BMI's NASHVILLE office and will include topics like:
- The Role of Today's Radio Manager
- Managing Up and Down
- Having Difficult Conversations
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Women in the Radio Workplace
- Recruiting, Hiring, and Firing
- Building Your Personal Brand
- Small Groups and Open Discussions for Women in Management
20 BMI scholarship winners will be selected to attend the seminar, which will feature speakers like the RAB's ERICA FARBER AND BRANDEIS C. HALL, ENTERCOM'S WEEZIE KRAMER, INTEGRATED MEDIA SOLUTIONS GROUP's LYNN ANDERSON, EMMIS' LINDSAY CERAJEWSKI, HD RADIO's JOE D'ANGELO, MEDIA STAFFING NETWORKS' LAURIE KAHN, BEASLEY'S HEATHER MONAHAN, NEUHOFF MEDIA'S BETH NEUHOFF, BMI'S DAN SPEARS, AND OLIN AND ASSOCIATES and MIW's KAY OLIN.
“Rising Through the Ranks is the pinnacle annual event for the MENTORING AND INSPIRING WOMEN IN RADIO GROUP,” said OLIN. “This two-day training workshop allows us to continue to mentor and motivate female sales managers with the goal of helping them climb their corporate ladders.”
“BMI is thrilled to welcome back the MIW and through this important initiative, a new group of talented up-and-coming female radio executives to our NASHVILLE office,” said BMI SVP/Licensing MIKE STEINBERG. “These scholarships support the professional development of the next generation of radio executives, and the advancement of female executives in industry.”
“The list of presenters above brings forth a worthwhile opportunity for scholarship winners to learn from our industry’s top executives, not to mention the wealth of knowledge shared through peer-to-peer discussions between both speakers and attendees, which will be brought back directly to their respective markets” said FARBER. “By encouraging the advancement of women in the ranks, we ensure that female leaders continue to emerge within the radio business.”
Scholarship applications and registration are available at www.rab.com and will be accepted MAY 2nd through JUNE 8th at 5p (CT), with recipients notified by JUNE 29th.
