WHITE HOUSE Press Secretary TONY SNOW gave up his radio job to join the administration, but his voice has continued to air on CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WHO-A/DES MOINES, unbeknownst to him.
The NEW YORK TIMES reports that spots he recorded for NU-VU WINDOWS AND SIDING while still hosting middays for FOX NEWS RADIO have been airing on the station, a situation called to his attention by RADIO IOWA News Director O. KAY HENDERSON, whose reports air on crosstown SAGA Adult Standards KRNT-A. SNOW said that the client's use of the spots was "unknown and unauthorized, and as soon as we found out about it a WHITE HOUSE counsel called up and said, 'You really can’t do this.' It’s like, you don’t have the White House press secretary flacking siding."
SNOW recorded the spots for PUTBRESE COMMUNICATIONS Religion KWKY-A (NEW LIFE 1150), which was an affiliate of his show; he says that the client does not have the right to air the commercials on another outlet.
