WRTB/Rockford Will Add Steve Summers For Mornings

MID-WEST FAMILY BROADCASTING Country WRTB (95-3 THE BULL)/ROCKFORD, IL will add STEVE SUMMERS to mornings, effective TUESDAY, AUGUST 23rd. SUMMERS most recently worked for crosstown TOWNSQUARE Country WXXQ as PD/morning personality, where he served in that capacity for 23 years (NET NEWS 2/24). A non-compete clause with SUMMERS' WXXQ contract will prevent him from starting on the air prior to MONDAY, AUGUST 22nd.

"While we'd love to have STEVE on the air later this week, his former employers informed me that they were going to enforce the non-compete on one of his outdated contracts," said MID-WEST FAMILY BROADCASTING GM MIKE PATERSON. "In my opinion, come AUGUST, 95-3 THE BULL will have a tremendous radio line-up. MID-WEST FAMILY BROADCASTING continues to grow and provide the local content and entertainment that residents in the ROCKFORD region are demanding."

In the interim, SUMMERS will serve as Special Assistant to the GM where he will be working on a data-modeling project for the group of MID-WEST FAMILY stations in SOUTH BEND, IN and MADISON, WI throughout the SUMMER. Upon SUMMERS' return to the morning airwaves, WRTB MD/Program Manager JUSTIN BROWN will shift to middays and JB LOVE will move to afternoons.
