Condolences to family and friends of longtime SAN FRANCISCO traffic reporter and personality HAP HARPER, who died WEDNESDAY of heart failure in JACKSON, CA. He was 81.

HARPER, who was credited by some as the first airborne traffic reporter, was part of DON SHERWOOD's long-running morning show on KSFO-A starting in 1957 and was a familiar radio presence in the BAY AREA on KNBR-A, KYA-A and KSFO-A until his 1991 retirement. He most recently sold real estate in AMADOR COUNTY, CA.
