Former "OPIE AND ANTHONY" producer BEN SPARKS has pleaded guilty to one count of harassing the show's co-host, GREGG "OPIE" HUGHES and his wife LYNSI. The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reports that SPARKS, who worked on the old "OPIE AND ANTHONY" show before being let go in 2006 shortly after an altercation with a HOWARD STERN fan on the daily O&A "walkover" between CBS RADIO and XM RADIO studios, was sentenced to four days of community service and a restraining order keeping him away from HUGHES.
In the case, SPARKS was accused of sending several harassing text messages to OPIE over the years and "more than just text messages," OPIE told the DAILY NEWS in NOVEMBER. HUGHES now hosts his daily show with JIM NORTON on SIRIUSXM after ANTHONY CUMIA's departure in JULY 2014.
