APEX Top 40 WIHB (B92)/CHARLESTON, SC PD KOBE has handed in his two weeks notice as he's accepted the PD/afternoon role at CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WLDI (WILD 95.5)/W. PALM BEACH. KOBE's last day is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20th, and he's replacing CHRIS MARINO who left to join PAMAL Top 40 WSPK/POUGHKEEPSIE for mornings.
APEX/CHARLESTON VP/GM CHRIS JOHNSON said, "KOBE has done a superb job in launching B92 and I hate to see him leave. However, I congratulate him on moving up to a top 50 market."
JOHNSON went on to announce that APEX/LAKE CHARLES, LA OM BRYAN TAYLOR is moving to APEX/CHARLESTON in the same capacity.
"Primarily he will be responsible for taking over the programming duties for B92. In addition to B92 he will have a larger responsibility in assisting me with the operations of our other stations, with Virtual Services and to a limited degree Publishing. Many of you already know BRIAN. He has been a long time employee of APEX, most recently as Operations Manager in LAKE CHARLES. He will be in the building and assuming his responsibilities next MONDAY, OCTOBER 16th."
CLEAR CHANNEL/W. PALM BEACH OM DAVE DENVER noted, "I think we've landed a real superstar for the format and for CLEAR CHANNEL. In short order he's put on a winning radio station in CHARLESTON, he's a great airtalent, and a creative PD for 2007. I think he's fit our WEST PALM BEACH cluster very nicely."
