The DETROIT TV anchorman who battled his employer over his ability to host a religious radio show has quit the TV station to become a pastor and evangelist. FRANK TURNER sued SCRIPPS HOWARD ABC affiliate WXYZ-TV (ABC7)/DETROIT earlier this year in an attempt to force the station to allow him to host a show on crosstown Religion WEXL-A despite an exclusive contract, but lost his bid for an injunction to allow him to moonlight. TURNER was rehired by ABC7 in 2000 after a drugs-and-sex scandal drove him off the air in 1998; his new position is as a full-time pastor, evangelist, and Bible teacher at GOD'S AMAZING GRACE MINISTRIES.
