Photographer Sues iHeartMedia Over Use Of Azealia Banks Photo On WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York Website

iHEARTMEDIA has been served with a lawsuit over unauthorized use of a photo of AZEALIA BANKS posted at the website of Urban WWPR (POWER 105.1)/NEW YORK.

The suit, filed by NEW JERSEY-based photographer CHRISTOPHER SADOWSKI in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NEW YORK, alleges that the station's website posted a copyrighted photo of BANKS being arrested and coming out of the police station on DECEMBER 15th after allegedly punching a security guard; the photo had appeared in the NEW YORK POST with proper credit, but the photo then appeared on the POWER 105.1 website with no credit, license, or payment. 

SADOWSKI is seeking up to $150,000 statutory damages  plus costs, expenses. and attorney's fees for the infringement.  While a spokesperson for iHEARTMEDIA tells ALL ACCESS that a settlement has been reached in the case, no settlement documents have yet appeared in the court's online docket for the case and a pretrial conference remains set for JULY.
