Last year, WARNER MUSIC NASHVILLE artist BLAKE SHELTON was unable to attend the CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL due to other engagements, so he made sure to kick it off right for his fans by offering free beers to the masses in the inaugural "BEERS ON BLAKE!" promotion (NET NEWS 6/8/2015). But this year, SHELTON is in attendance and has been making the rounds. From the opening of his "BLAKE SHELTON: BASED ON A TRUE STORY" exhibit at the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM to being in attendance as his former protégé on NBC-TV's "The Voice," RAELYNN, signed a record deal with WARNER (NET NEWS 6/8), you never know where SHELTON will pop up.
TODAY (6/10) proved just that, as SHELTON turned the second annual "BEERS ON BLAKE!" in to a full-fledged surprise pop-up show at THE STAGE on BROADWAY in NASHVILLE. SHELTON shocked a packed house as he made his way through the building to the stage to perform an impromptu set with over a dozen songs played acoustically. But how does someone like BLAKE SHELTON keep a secret and make it a surprise? All six-foot-five of him sauntered down BROADWAY in the middle of the day, causing sheer pandemonium as crowds recognized him immediately. Maybe the folks at WARNER should have dressed him up in a wig and sunglasses, had him in costume as ELVIS, or utilized another form of disguise. But what would be the fun in that? After all, the best part about the CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL is knowing that around any turn, you might bump in to your favorite artist.
