You can call him SIR LUCIAN GRAINGE now.
The UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP Chairman/CEO was honored today with a knighthood conferred by HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II in the QUEEN’s 90th BIRTHDAY HONOURS list.
The knighthood was bestowed upon GRAINGE for his accomplishments in the music industry and his leadership through its challenging times. The honor also acknowledges his contribution to BRITISH business and inward investment and his development of innovative business models, technology and media partnerships which have led to an expansion of UMG’s global presence.
“It is with enormous pride that I receive this honor from HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN,” GRAINGE said. “It is a recognition of BRITISH music’s significance to the U.K.’s culture and economy, its role in inspiring investment, and the contribution of incredible creative talent from around the world.”
