Hubbard Radio Talent Institute Starts Today

The NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM's first HUBBARD RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE program starts TODAY (6/13) at CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY. Twenty-one students from CWU, WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY, GREEN RIVER COLLEGE and PRAIRIE VIEW A&M are attending the event.

HUBBARD Chair/CEO GINNY MORRIS said, “Compelling and relatable on-air talent is what separates local radio from all other audio entertainment services. Our investment in the NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM at CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY is an extension of HUBBARD RADIO’s commitment to do our part to nurture and grow the talent pipeline for the industry. We are proud to partner with DAN VALLIE and his team in this important initiative.”

Among the radio pros at the program will be ALPHA MEDIA's LARRY WILSON, the RAB's ERICA FARBER, BONNEVILLE/SEATTLE's CARL GARDNER, ENTERCOM/PORTLAND's TIM MCNAMARA,  HUBBARD's GREG STRASSELL, KAYO-KGY/OLYMPIA's JACKSON DELL WEAVER, HUBBARD/SEATTLE's MARC KAYE and ADAM WEST, consultants JAYE ALBRIGHT, BECKY BRENNER, and JEFF MCHUGH, CBS RADIO/SAN FRANCISCO's DOUG HARVILL, BONNEVILLE News-Talk KIRO-F/SEATTLE's PETE GAMMELL and RON UPSHAW, TOWNSQUARE MEDIA/YAKIMA's ANDY WINFORD, and HUBBARD Top 40/Rhythmic's RICKY VILLA.  The ALAN AND ASHLEY show from HUBBARD AC KRWM (WARM 106.9)/SEATTLE will broadcast live from the event on FRIDAY, and the station's RON HARRELL and SHELLIE HART will also be appearing on panels.  An off-campus trip will take the students to SAFECO FIELD and CENTURY LINK FIELD in SEATTLE for talks with MARINERS' VP/Marketing KEVIN MARTINEZ, SEAHAWKS Dir. of Broadcasting BRIAN O'CONNELL, and BONNEVILLE Sports KIRO-A (710 ESPN SEATTLE) morning co-host BROCK HUARD.
