Triton Digital: Pandora, iHeartRadio Top 20 Rankers For April Streaming

PANDORA and iHEARTRADIO were the big winners of TRITON DIGITAL's Top 20 RANKER charts for APRIL.
Year-Over-Year Average Active Sessions were up 15.5% during the month compared to last APRIL during the M-F 6a-8p daypart, and up 13.4% during the M-SUNDAY, 6a-MIDNIGHT daypart. Overall, mobile listening made up 76.2% of total listening during the M-F, 6a-8p daypart, an all-time high.
Traditional AM/FM broadcasters were up 31% of Average Active Sessions, while Pureplays were up 12.3% for APRIL 2016 compared to last year at the same time.
Regarding formats, Urban Adult Contemporary showed the biggest increase year-over-year, at 9.4%, followed by Top 40 (8.3%), Country (5%), Sports (4.5%) and Urban Contemporary (4.3%).
On the other end, News/Talk showed the biggest decline (-6.7%), followed by Christian AC (-4.5%), Jazz/Smooth AC (-1.9%) and Classic Hits (-.9%).
PANDORA topped the APRIL Domestic Ranker in the M-F 6a-8p time period, with 2.6 million AAS, followed by SPOTIFY (1.3m), iHEARTRADIO (454k), CUMULUS (59k) and CBS RADIO (56k).
iHEARTRADIO topped the APRIL All Streams Ranker in the M-F 6a-8p slot, with 1.2m active sessions, followed by PRISA RADIO (458k), CUMULUS (61k), NPR MEMBER STATIONS (58k) and CBS RADIO (57k)
PANDORA (2.2m) and SPOTIFY (1.2m) finished 1-2 in the APRIL Domestic Ranker for M-SUNDAY, 6a-12 MIDNIGHT time slot, while iHEARTRADIO (801k) and PRISA RADIO (73k) topped the APRIL All Streams Ranker in that time slot.
