Manuela Herzer Tries Again, With Shakespeare-Inspired Motion, For New Trial In Redstone Case

MANUELA HERZER is moving for a new trial in her case to get her ex-boyfriend SUMNER REDSTONE declared mentally incompetent to manage his own affairs and get reinstated as his health care representative.

HERZER's attorney PIERCE O'DONNELL filed the motion MONDAY (6/14), including a comparison of REDSTONE to SHAKESPEARE's "demented" King Lear, "ailing and easily fooled... duped into surrendering his power, land, and fortune to his two conniving daughters," and claiming that new evidence supports HERZER's claim that REDSTONE's daughter, VIACOM and CBS CORPORATION Vice Chair SHARI REDSTONE, plotted to oust HERZER to get control of VIACOM and CBS.

HERZER's case was dismissed in MAY.  SUMNER REDSTONE's move to oust VIACOM CEO PHILIPPE DAUMAN and board member GEORGE ABRAMS from the trust set up to manage his affairs when he dies or becomes incapacitated has prompted a parallel suit in MASSACHUSETTS court challenging his capacity to make decisions for the trust and companies.
