CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A and Talk WFNY-F (92.3 FREE FM)/NEW YORK VP of Programming MARK CHERNOFF is giving up the FREE FM part of his programming duties. CHERNOFF will continue to handle both stations' programming until a replacement to handle FREE FM is found.
That means that there's a major PD position available at FREE FM. The position includes planning and overseeing all on-air programming and production, monitoring station programming and activities in conformance with FCC rules and regulations, company policy and federal, state and local laws, hiring, developing and coaching on-air staff, and coordinating with sales and promotions departments to plan and execute marketing and imaging campaigns.
The company is looking for someone creative and highly competent in talent coaching, talk programming and administration, possessing the skills necessary to generate ratings and build revenue, and understanding audience research and community involvement. 5-7 years major market talk programming experience is essential, and the winning candidate will be well versed in FCC rules and regulations, federal, state and local laws, with experience in hiring, developing and coaching on-air staff.
