The LOS ANGELES RAMS have made it official and inked a deal for ESPN Sports KSPN-A (ESPNLA 710AM) and ENTERCOM Classic Rock KSWD (100.3 THE SOUND)/LOS ANGELES to air the relocated NFL team's games this season. The news initially broke last month (NET NEWS 5/23) but was not made official until TODAY.
The deals make KSPN the official flagship under a five-year deal, including eight-hour broadcasts with a three-hour pre-game show, two-hour post-game show, a weekly in-season coach's show with JEFF FISHER on MONDAY nights at 7p (PT), a weekly preview show on THURSDAY nights at 7p, weekly segments with FISHER and various players on the station's talk shows, and a daily "RAMS REPORT." A separate deal with ENTERCOM makes KSWD the "official FM station" of the RAMS in a multi-year arrangement to simulcast the play-by-play. ESPNLA will produce the broadcasts, build a network of affiliates, and sell virtually all of the ad inventory.
“We look forward to reaching football fans across the LOS ANGELES community through our partnership with ESPNLA 710 and THE SOUND 100.3,” said RAMS COO KEVIN DEMOFF. “Both stations have a strong connection to their audience and we welcome the opportunity to provide their listeners with exclusive game-day programming, unique daily insight, and access to our team throughout the year.”
ESPNLA VP/GM SCOTT MCCARTHY said, “Like all SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA sports fans, we at ESPNLA are thrilled that the RAMS have come home. The RAMS are a world-class franchise, and we look forward to working with them to bring their exciting games to Rams fans across the Southland. Adding compelling RAMS programming to our market-leading lineup of on-air talent and our fantastic existing relationships with the LOS ANGELES LAKERS, USC, and LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM really elevates ESPNLA to the next level.”
KSWD VP/GM PETER BURTON said, “We are excited to be welcoming the Los Angeles Rams to their official new FM home at 100.3 THE SOUND. Along with our terrific partners at ESPN, we look forward to delivering excellent game-day coverage to RAMS fans throughout SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA."
