New Radio Drama Podcast Venture Airwayv Launches Today

A new company is launching to produce radio drama podcasts with well-known actors, reports the WALL STREET JOURNAL. 

AIRWAYV, launching TODAY (6/21), plans to distribute original scripted shows with actors including TONY SHALHOUB, JAY O. SANDERS, REG E. CATHEY, DANA IVEY, and KRISTINE NIELSEN.  Playwright ARTHUR YORINKS and stage producer JIM SIMPSON are the co-founders of the new company, which will distribute the podcasts for free with ads and for a fee without commercials.  MIKE SKAGERLIND is serving as Executive Producer of the venture. 

The first shows available include YORINKS' "TAKING CARE OF PAUL," available in 14 episodes for free or all at once for $8.95 in an ad-free form, and two one-hour plays, also by YORINKS, available for $4.95 each as part of a 13-play cycle.
