What A Gathering For Alternative Radio In Louisville

Approximately 200 folks checked in for THE GATHERING ALONG THE WHISKEY TRAIL in LOUISVILLE last week from JUNE 15th through JUNE 17th for the inaugural three-day music industry event with 15 music showcases catering to the Alternative format.
CHURCHILL DOWNS was the site of the THE GATHERING KICK OFF PARTY sponsored by HOLLYWOOD RECORDS. Mock Horse Racing was sponsored by DANGERBIRD RECORDS and renowned CHURCHILL DOWNS bugler STEVE BUTTLEMAN, who played the official call to post time. CAPITOL artist THE BROODS concluded the CHURCHILL DOWN festivities with a performance. THE GATHERING continued back at the THE BROWN HOTEL with a LATE NIGHT LOUNGE sponsored by REPUBLIC RECORDS.
Day two began with a GRAND SLAM SOFTBALL game, sponsored by CONCORD MUSIC GROUP and managed by CBS RADIO's KITS (LIVE 105)/SAN FRANCISCO APD/MD AARON AXELSEN. Following the morning ballgame was lunch and bourbon tasting at BARTON 1792 DISTILLERY, sponsored by SONY/RED with a performance by THE BRINKS. COPPER & KINGS DISTILLERY was the venue for a evening of dinner, music, and more adult beverages, sponsored by 300 ENTERTAINMENT. The lineup featured performances from COBI (300), 888 (7S), THE MOTH & THE FLAME (7S), BRONZE RADIO RETURN (DIGSIN), HUNGER (1ST PRODUCTION/CO5), FAME RIOT (ANOTHER CENTURY), and THE UNLIKELY CANDIDATES (CO5).
Day three began at AGAINST THE GRAIN BREWERY with lunch sponsored by STRANGE LOOP and The History Of Bourbon Through Bluegrass Music. Cocktails and dinner was back at THE BROWN HOTEL, sponsored by eONE with a performance by STRANGE LOOP artist THE ARKELLS. The music continued down the street at the MERCURY BALLROOM with TEAMMMATE (ROSTRUM), MONA (BRIGHT ANTENNA), IRON TOM (RM64), BEWARE OF DARKNESS, (BRIGHT ANTENNA), and AWOLNATION (RED BULL).
