JIM KERR inks a new multi-year contract with CLEAR CHANNEL Classic Rock WAXQ (Q104.3)/NEW YORK, keeping him with the station at least through 2009.
“Q104.3’s audience made this decision an easy one,” stated PD BOB BUCHMANN. “JIM gets their biggest vote of confidence: the best morning ratings in station history. Whether he is talking to PAUL MCCARTNEY, playing the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS or just waking us up with the weather, he’s a perfect fit for us."
“Not only have ratings increased since JIM took over mornings in 2003, so has advertising revenue for morning drive time at Q104.3,” added TOM POLEMAN, SVP/Marketing and Programming for CCNY. “JIM is a NEW YORK radio legend and we are thrilled that he has decided to start his day at Q for years to come.”
KERR has been handling mornings in NEW YORK since he was 21, making him the youngest person to host mornings at a major NEW YORK station, and the longest-running morning personality in the market.
