Reclaiming A Dashboard Presence

At today's Connected Car webinar, JACOBS MEDIA and JACAPPS announced the extension of App Everywhere in three major in-car platforms -- ANDROID Auto, FORD SYNC's SmartDeviceLink and APPLE CAR PLAY. The app will put radio on a level playing field on connected car dashboards as PANDORA, SPOTIFY and other offerings. The App will be available in 35 brands and 100 models.

The extension, which will be available to radio in JULY, puts stations front and center on the connected car screen, which helps make them top-of-mind to drivers and passengers. “For us, it’s always been about how radio could have presence on the beachfront property known as smartphones," JACAPPS Pres. PAUL JACOBS said. "Today, that valuable real estate includes the car dashboard.”

FRED JACOBS said. “Today’s entertainment systems provide drivers with myriad options, many of which are accessed from their smartphone. And now, we can get radio broadcasters on the valuable screens of these vehicles to ensure that millions of consumers can enjoy hearing their favorite stations while driving.”

JACAPPS is in the process of releasing a beta app for APPLE CarPlay for GREATER MEDIA Rock WMMR/PHILADELPHIA.
