ACADEMY AWARD and GRAMMY AWARD-winning pioneer of disco, GIORGIO MORODER, returns home to CASABLANCA RECORDS, re-signing to the label where he launched a dancefloor revolution. The 76-year-old electronic dance music icon is already gearing up to release new music through CASABLANCA later this SUMMER.
In 1977, MORODER made history with “the first disco hit entirely produced with a synthesizer,” DONNA SUMMER’s “I Feel Love.” That same year, he released his CASABLANCA RECORDS debut, "From Here To Eternity," which paved the way for house music’s eventual emergence.
"It just makes sense, it feels like home.” MORODER comments on the re-signing to CASABLANCA. “I am so excited to share new music with you and to work with the CASABLANCA family. CASABLANCA from here to eternity.”
CASABLANCA GM BRETT ALPEROWITZ said, “GIORGIO is one of music’s most important innovators. He ushered in a new era of dance music in 1977 with his groundbreaking production of DONNA SUMMER’s ‘’I Feel Love’. It feels great to have him back with the label and we are looking forward to his next innovation!"
