KCRW/Santa Monica To Sponsor The Latin Alternative Music Conference, July 6th-9th

SANTA MONICA COLLEGE NPR station KCRW will once again be the official radio sponsor for the LATIN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC CONFERENCE, as it celebrates its 17th year showcasing the best in LATIN music from around the world the week of JULY 6th-9th

KCRW will feature special programming in LOS ANGELES while the event is underway.

KCRW DJ RAUL CAMPOS serves as the official LAMC host for the 9th year and will broadcast highlights from the festival on his show JULY 9th-10th with the last hour (5p to 6p [PT]) dedicated to LAMC and his LATIN music discoveries.

CAMPOS will also MC major LAMC events including the LAMC showcase at HIGHLINE BALLROOM, CELEBRATE BROOKLYN at PROSPECT PARK, as well as the LAMC CENTRAL PARK SUMMERSTAGE  free concerts.

In L.A., KCRW will spotlight new LATIN music by offering free daily song downloads of LAMC artists as part of TODAY'S TOP TUNE from JULY 4th-8th, including MEXRISSEY, LA DAME BLANCHE, THE CHAMANAS, LOS CAFRES and GRENDA.

CAMPOS will visit "Morning Becomes Eclectic" on WEDNESDAY, JULY 13th to recap the week’s highlights from the festival.

KCRW blogger JOSE GALVAN will also feature some of his favorite bands from the wide-reaching genre as part of the PAN CALIENTE series.

Online registration is now closed, however a limited amount of walk up registrations will be available.
