Renée Montagne To Step Back From Co-Hosting NPR's 'Morning Edition,' Will Be Special Correspondent

NPR "MORNING EDITION" co-host RENÉE MONTAGNE has announced that she will be "stepping back" from hosting and concentrating on long-form reporting for the network as Special Correspondent. 

The change will take place after NOVEMBER's election; MONTAGNE, co-host of the show since 2004, will continue to be based at NPR WEST in CULVER CITY, CA, and will be heard on "MORNING EDITION" and other news magazines and will occasionally guest-host "WEEKEND EDITION."  STEVE INSKEEP and DAVID GREENE continue as co-hosts of "MORNING EDITION."

"Hosting MORNING EDITION is an all-consuming, daily rush into the world, where tales are told with passion and intelligence in collaboration with colleagues who are, quite simply, family," said MONTAGNE. "I've treasured every one of these 12 years.
