Sony Nashville Chairman Randy Goodman To Tennessean: 'An Exciting Time for Us'

SONY MUSIC NASHVILLE Chairman/CEO RANDY GOODMAN is profiled in a TENNESSEAN piece this week, which discusses his desire for the label group to break new acts, in addition to continuing the success of established stars like MIRANDA LAMBERT, BRAD PAISLEY, and KENNY CHESNEY.

GOODMAN was named head of SONY NASHVILLE in JULY of last YEAR (NET NEWS 7/8/2015), and his goal of identifying and breaking new artists began quickly. On his third day at the new job, his A&R team played him music from MAREN MORRIS. She was signed, and has gone on to record the critically acclaimed “Hero” album, which debuted at #1 when released in JUNE. CAM and OLD DOMINION have also made huge strides for SONY, with LANCO and KANE BROWN starting to make noise, too. This FALL, the label group will relocate from its longtime MUSIC ROW location to a new office space in NASHVILLE’s trendy GULCH area.

“You take the new artists, and we’re excited about some of the new acts that we’ve signed here recently, the new office, and then you’ve got the superstar artists whose albums will be coming out like (CHESNEY, LAMBERT and PAISLEY), and it’s an exciting time for us.
